Tennessee Tow Truck Driver Dies in Car Fire
A tow truck driver in Hardin County, drugs Tennessee died Wednesday, more about May 5, patient when his tow truck caught on fire during an accident, according to a news report.
The accident occurred on U.S. 64 when two tow trucks had a head-on collision around 3:30 p.m. The victim’s name had not been released at the time of the report. The driver of the second tow truck refused medical treatment.

Ohio Tow Truck Driver Shot on the Job
A tow truck driver in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, was shot several times while on the job Thursday, April 29, around 6:30 p.m., according to a news report.
The driver was hooking a vehicle to his tow truck when a man with a handgun approached him and shot him three times in the arm, abdomen and leg, the report states. The driver said he doesn’t know the person who shot him.
He was transported to the local hospital and was reportedly in stable condition.

Chicago Tow Truck Driver, Officer Injured in Chain-Reaction Collision
A tow truck hit head-on during a chain-reaction crash this morning in Chicago left four people injured, including the tow truck driver and a police officer, according to a news report.
Around 3:15 a.m. a tow truck driver noticed someone driving erratically and followed him until he was able to flag down an officer. The officer stopped the female driver, but after he got out of his car another car hit the tow truck head-on, the report states. The collision pushed the tow truck into the woman’s car, causing it to bounce backward and hit the officer. The woman’s car was totaled.
The officer was released from the hospital later with a broken left arm and chest contusions. The woman, tow truck driver and driver of the second car were also injured, but were in good condition, according to the report.
Steve Ortiz, 21, the male driver that hit the tow truck with his vehicle, was charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, and was also ticketed for negligent driving, failure to keep within the lanes and driving without a license, the report states.
