The Curve Ball

There’s excitement in the state of Wisconsin – the Milwaukee Brewers have reached October baseball. Watching their last two play-off games I realized I could never be a coach. It’s bad enough watching the game as a fan — hoping and praying for that last pitch to be a curve ball that will make the batter swing and miss, and bring the final out to win the game. Too tense and a nail biter. I don’t think my heart could take it.

But I suppose if your baseball team (employees) are professionals, you put your trust in their abilities to bring home the win. You also know that a team effort and mindset makes your coaching (manager) job a lot easier. When you can work in-sync with each other and everyone brings their “A- game” and has the same goal in mind, it makes you all winners.

There’s a lot of strategy when setting up a baseball team, selecting players who can throw that fast curve ball, catch and throw a baseball the farthest, who are the fastest runners or out-of-the-park hitters. The same is true for towing and recovery companies that have tow operators who bring their own personalities and strengths to make your team ready for when that curve ball (incident) is thrown their way.

While I want my home team to keep winning their games, I know that — just like in the life of a tower — they’ll be facing a lot more curve balls. I’m confident that all the players (employees) will do their best and be ready for anything thrown their way.

Go Brewers!
