South Carolina Towing Company Holds “Name that Truck” Contest

Dec 21st, 2010 | By | Category: National News

Wayne’s Automotive & Towing Center in Aiken, S.C., held a “name that truck” contest for their new 60-ton rotator. They took the 2007 Peterbilt 378 with a Century 1060S rotator to schools, the fair, car shows and other public appearances and handed out T-shirts promoting the contest, prompting hundreds of entries of hopeful winners.

The winning name? Showtime. According to a news report, the winner was submitted by Clem Campbell of Warrenville. Jeff and Sherry Corbett, owners of Wayne’s Automotive & Towing Center, say the name is fitting for the show the truck puts on when it’s operating.

The truck made its debut at the Aiken Christmas Parade on Dec. 12. Campbell won a year of free preventive car maintenance for his winning entry.
