San Francisco Police Arrest Man for Bomb Threat Over Truck Towing

Sep 1st, 2010 | By | Category: National News

San Francisco police arrested a man August 31 after he allegedly made a bomb threat while angry that his vehicle was being towed. At approximately 3 p.m., the 36-year-old man’s pickup was being towed at the direction of the San Francisco Department of Parking and Traffic officers for multiple, unpaid parking tickets.

The man, unnamed in news reports, arrived as his truck was being towed, argued with DPT officers and allegedly assaulted one of them. The man then said there were explosives in the back of the truck, causing the tow truck operator to drive to the City College of San Francisco parking lot nearby.

A bomb squad from the San Francisco police responded and determined that packages in the truck were not explosives, the report said.
