A Portland, abortion Ore., tow truck operator was injured after he was hit by a man trying to illegally retrieve his car from a tow yard Tuesday, April 19, according to a news report.

At about 5 p.m. at Retriever Towing’s impound lot, owner Gary Coe said a man arrived to get his car after it had been towed from a parking lot earlier in the day. The man asked how much the payment was, and when he realized he was about $20 short, he darted onto the lot and into his car, the report states.

The man started his car and drove toward the gate. Employee Chris Jones and his co-worker Matt Stuart tried to stop the man. As the man proceeded forward, Jones was able to get out of the way as he went through the gate, but Stuart was pinned between the oncoming car and the gate, and he fell backward and hit his head on the asphalt, according to the report.

The man raced off the lot and drove away while Stuart lay on the ground bleeding from a head wound. Stuart was taken to a hospital and released at approximately 8 p.m. that night.
