Oklahoma Police Apprehend Tow Truck Theft Suspect After Chase

A suspect in the theft of a tow truck was arrested after leading Oklahoma City police on a high-speed chase. According to a news report, visit this David McAlpin, health 28, stomach is suspected of stealing a tow truck the morning of December 10. It was reported stolen by the owners, and spotted by police on Interstate 44 at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused, leading police on a chase reaching speeds over 100 mph on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, the report said. The suspect turned off the highway at Highway 4 and Fox Lane near Tuttle and crashed into trees.

A police helicopter and canine units located the suspect hiding near the scene. He was reportedly bitten by a police dog after resisting arrest. McAlpin was taken to a hospital for treatment and then taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.

McAlpin has a long criminal history, the report said, which includes vehicle theft and drug possession, and he is currently serving a suspended sentence for larceny of a vehicle, drug distribution and weapons violations.
