New Cat® Prowling the Streets

Jun 22nd, 2012 | By | Category: New Products

Last year Caterpillar launched a new line of Class 8 vocational trucks designed for heavy-duty applications that require reliability, unhealthy durability and low cost of ownership. The Cat® CT660 is available with three engine options: the CT11, case CT13 and CT15, price providing horsepower ratings from 330 to 550 and peak torque of 1,450- to 1,850-lb.-ft. The transmission, a CX31automatic with six forward speeds and one reverse, is built to compliment the torque of the Cat CT Series engine. Additional transmissions are available, including the UltraShift Plus from Eaton.

The spacious cab is filled with features to help reduce driver fatigue, enhance safety and increase productivity. The CT660 is backed by more than 400 service centers across the United States and Canada.

Miller Industries worked closely with Cat chassis engineers to develop the right custom specifications to match the CT660 with Miller Industries’ popular industrial Series 30 and 40 LCG™ carriers, which provide 6 to 8 inches lower deck height for hauling heavy and tall loads such as machinery and equipment.

The first CT660 with a 40,000-lb. capacity Chevron LCG has been turning heads as it rolls down the highway — with several more in production. For the new, next generation heavy-duty truck with capabilities to haul tough loads, check out the new CAT® CT660 with a Miller LCG (Low Center of Gravity) industrial carrier.
