It Does a Towing Company Good

You may have heard the statement: “Milk, it does a body good.” I was reminded of this after reading the article, “The Benefits of Giving” featured in the latest issue of Tow Times magazine. Giving back and supporting your community and industry charities does a towing company good. It goes along with the saying: “the more you give, the more you receive.” It goes beyond having your tow company listed on the donation list.

While one of the benefits of giving could be to receive a tax deduction, the greater benefit for being generous with your money and time is it makes you feel good. You know you’re helping others accomplish their mission of helping.

I find that it’s not hard to be generous in giving to something you believe in – especially to an industry-specific organization. The article listed numerous industry charities: The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum, Wall of the Fallen Survivor Fund, Tow Trucks for Tots and the Women of the Towing and Recovery Association of America (WTRAA) Scholarship Fund.

The museum preserves the history of towing and recovery for all to enjoy and honors individuals who have contributed to the industry. The Wall of the Fallen Survivor Fund provides support to families in their time of loss. Tow Trucks for Tots accomplished the record for the largest tow truck parade and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.  While that was one of the organization’s goals, the main goal is to collect toys for needy children. The WTRAA Scholarship under the Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) Education Foundation awards scholarships to children and grandchildren of TRAA members to help them with their continuing education.

Giving to these industry organizations “does a towing company good” as well as the recipients of your generosity. Let’s all receive the benefits of giving. Get Hooked on Helping.
