APTO Announces Bids for Ohio TRIP Program

The Association of Professional Towers Ohio (APTO) has announced that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is currently seeking bids from qualified heavy towing companies for their Towing and Recovery Incentive Payment (TRIP) program.

“The purpose of the TRIP program is to increase safety to the motoring public by providing for the quick clearance of large commercial vehicles that are blocking one or more lanes of travel due to crash or mechanical issues. ODOT makes incentive payments of up to $2,499.00 per event to heavy towing companies that perform the required work and meet the arrival and clearance times specified in the contract documents,” an APTO press release states.

The contract will cover the two-year period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2021. All bids for Invitation 055-19 must be received by 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.  Late bids will not be accepted.
